GCHS female students at a girls conference on stage holding a junior achievement banner

These GCHS ladies - mainly freshman and sophomores - had the opportunity to learn about leading as women in today’s world this week thanks to Junior Achievement’s Girl$ Experience.

Students spent the day learning from other successful female business and community leaders, some well-established, and some newer to the scene. The event emphasized professional etiquette in a variety of settings, job applications and interview tips, dressing for success, budgeting, mentorship, goal setting, and much more.

The JA Girl$ Experience encourages young women to strive for meaningful and dynamic leadership careers, to build valuable communication skills, and to foster strong confidence as it connects them with other generations to showcase educational and career opportunities in business. Participating in the event early in their high school careers allows these students time to practice and hone vital skills that will give them an advantage in any situation throughout their lives.

It was a great day and thanks go to JA and the event’s generous sponsors for providing this wonderful opportunity, which will hopefully continue and grow. Thanks also to all the many community professionals who spent the day with our students, sharing their stories, insights and vision for a successful future.
