On March 28, Grayson County High School stepped onto the field for a challenging doubleheader against Webster County and the LKY Saints. The players knew it would be a long day, but their energy was high as the first game began. They faced the LKY Saints in the opener, a team known for their strong defense and quick offense. Early on, Grayson County struggled to find their rhythm at the plate. The Saints capitalized on a few key errors and built a steady lead. Despite a late push from Grayson County, they couldn’t close the gap.
The game ended in a tough loss, leaving the team disappointed but determined. After a short break, they regrouped and shifted their focus to Webster County. The second game started with a completely different energy. Grayson County came out aggressive, scoring early and setting the tone. Their pitching was sharp, keeping Webster County’s hitters under control. Strong defensive plays boosted their confidence throughout the game.
By the middle innings, Grayson County had built a comfortable lead. Webster County tried to rally, but Grayson County stayed composed and held them off. When the final out was made, Grayson County celebrated a well-earned victory, ending the day on a high note.
